Description

This Job Aid illustrates how to post a student charge. 

Instructions: 

Step
Action
1.

Click on [] then [] and navigate to Student Financials -> Charges and Payments -> Post Student Transaction

2.

Click in the ID field and enter the student’s ID#.

(Do NOT click the magnifying glass [] on this step.  If you do, it will search for and pull up every student in the system)

Enter the appropriate “Account Type”.

(Option 1) Click on the magnifying glass [] next to the” Account Type” field to display a list of Account Types.  Click on the appropriate Account Type.


(Option 2) If you know the Account Type’s abbreviation (e.g. “MSC”), you can enter it into the Account Type field.  (Account Types are three (3) characters long)

Enter the appropriate Item Type

(Option 1) Click on the magnifying glass [] next to the “Item Type” field to display a list of available Item Types.  Click on the appropriate Item Type.


(Option 2) You can enter the Item Type number if you know it.  E.g. "200000000600" for Transcripts.  (Item Types are twelve (12) digits long)

Click the “Add” button [].

Click in the “Amount” field and enter the appropriate monetary amount (e.g. “5.00”).

Click in the “Term” field and enter the appropriate term (e.g. "2175" for the Summer 2017 semester).

Click the “Post” button [].  The student’s Balance will update.

Click the Student Accounts link [] to view the posted transaction.

Click the Additional Information arrow [] to reveal a drop down list of choices

Click on the Due Charges [] link to view the charges that are due.

11.Click the Return link twice to go back to the Student Post page.
