Instructions

1.Navigate to Campus Community → Personal Information → Biographical → Names.

Use the Find an Existing Value tab and enter the ID of the student.

Note: If you do not know the ID, you can search using the first and last name fields or SSN (National ID). 

 3.

Click Search.

The following page will display. Select the Name Type you would like to edit and the information will automatically load into the Add/change a name area.

The most common example will be Primary as the Name Type.

(warning) Do not inactivate primary names.  If you need to change a historical record use the "Correct History" option, otherwise just add a new effective dated primary name.  Inactivating primary names causes system issues.

Enter the desired information in the First Name and/or Last Name fields.

 6.

Click on the refresh button () to update the Display Name and verify changes.

Click the Submit button or click the Reset button to start over.

Fields will be left blank after being reset. Any information will have to be completed again.

Click the Save button.

The updated name will now display on the student’s record.
