Dropping a Student in Quick Enroll

Prerequisites
Student must be enrolled in a class before this action can be completed.
Instructions
This Job Aid will go over the process necessary to drop a student from a class using the Quick Enroll function.

1. | Click on and navigate to Records and Enrollment > Enroll Students > Quick Enroll a Student … |

2. | Begin by navigating to the Quick Enroll a Student page. Be sure the Add a New Value tab is highlighted.
NOTE: It is recommended not to use the search feature (magnifying glass) for the ID, as the search feature will take a long time to load. |

3. | On the Class Enrollment tab, select Drop from the drop down menu under the Action field. |

4. | On the Class Enrollment tab, click in the Class Nbr field.
If you know the code for the class the student wants to drop, you can enter that in the Class Nbr field, e.g. “11073”. Otherwise you can use the magnifying glass to look up the current list of classes the student has enrolled in or dropped for the semester. Click on the checked box on the class you wish to drop, be sure you select a class with the status Enrolled. |

5. | Click on the General Overrides and the Class Overrides tab to override any rules, if necessary. NOTE: If the term is past the add/drop deadline and the student needs to be dropped from the course, be sure to select Action Date under General Overrides tab and select a date before the deadline so a “W” will not appear. If not, the student will be withdrawn and receive a “W”. NOTE: Only overrides that you are authorized to access are available. |

6. | When all class information and overrides are entered, click the Submit button. You will either see Success, Messages, or an Errors note on the Quick Enrollment page. Success: The drop action was successful. No further action necessary. Messages: The drop action was successful and there is a Message associated with your transaction. Click on Messages to see message. Errors: An error has occurred and the drop request was not processed. To review the details of the error, click on Errors. The student may need an override or permission to drop the class. The appropriate box will need to be checked to override the error. |

7. | To verify all enrolled/dropped courses for the term, click on the Study List link at the bottom of the page. To return to the Quick Enrollment page, click the Cancel button.
NOTE: If the term has not started, the study list will be blank. If the term has started, the study list will show the dropped class. |
