Definition for UGRD

This element indicates whether a student dropped or never attended a course.

A student is considered to drop a course if they drop the course after the START DATE (CS020) but prior to the DROP DEADLINE (CS040). A student is considered to have never attended if they drop prior to the START DATE (CS020).

Use in conjunction with Enroll Status Reason (EN007) to differentiate Drops that are from Waitlist.

Note, within CS, we are finding cases where some students who drop after the DROP DEADLINE receive a D while others receive a W on STDNT_ENRL. It is an issue that is beyond the scope of Datamart and has been reported to the appropriate parties for follow up.
