DED Update Log

Hello Institutional Effectiveness Community! As our SDCCD_IRD is a work in progress so is our Data Element Dictionary. This document will help outline our DED updates process and log.

The Atlassian page will be screened on a weekly basis for any comments by our IE community.
Any data element issues shall be brought to the appropriate district RPA’s attention to resolve.
All changes will be reflected in the individual data element’s ‘Known Issues, Related Details, and Other Notes’ and ‘DED Entry Last Updated’ date will be updated.
Below will include a list of known data elements issues with a description and progress towards resolution. There will also be a list of data element updates, data elements under construction and a list of some useful file pathways related to the DED and IRD.
Email communication about data element issues shall be saved in the Shared drive for posterity: R:\Datamart\DED_SDCCD_IRD\DED Communication
Initially this DED page will be refreshed on an as needed basis but eventually it shall be updated and maintained every six months.

IRD Refresh Cycle (last updated 11/10/20, anticipated until February 2021)

Data Element Issues

SB107 SB109 SB111 SB113	Skill level - It is unclear how to determine the exact term that reflects the student’s skill level as it appears the score is being updated during a term instead of after. The effective dating system is acting as an action counter and cannot be used as an effective date. A snapshot table has been created.	In Progress, 6/25/20
CS015	Waitlist Total – Course waitlists totals appears to have a different business practice after opening day that resets them. It shows fewer students than if you total waitlists by course using the enrollment table. This is being investigated now.	In Progress, 6/25/20
SB046	This element states Highest Education rom Application for CE students and is expected to be blank for UGRD. However, UGRD is populating and these values match the first digit of SB049, App_Ugrdhighed. The value labels and logic are being investigated now.	In Progress, 6/25/20
SB083	Age in Datamart 1 is calculated differently than in Datamart 2. Please refer to the specific element for more information.	Interim solution proposed, 8/20/20
Financial Aid Indicator	There is no defined financial aid indicator. An addendum financial aid query is being pulled and can be found at R:\Patrick\FinAid	In Progress, 8/20/20
Some Application Fields	Not all students are populating application data. Refer to R:\Missing App Data for some resources. This is being investigated now.	In Progress, 8/6/20

CS006	A new subject has been added, EXAM, for Challenge exams related to AB705 and right to placement. These are placeholders and are not considered real enrollments. They should be excluded. They are listed in Offerno = 9.	8/20/20
