Name

FIRST COLLEGE ENROLLMENT STATUS ON APP (ADMIT TYPE)

Short Name

FIRST_ENRLSTAT

Definition for UGRD

On CCCApply, students are asked to provide their college enrollment status. Students have the following options:
First-time student in college (after leaving high school)
First time at this college, have attended another college
Returning students to this college after absent for a main term
Enrolling in high school (or lower grade) and college at the same time

When a student applies to a credit college at SDCCD through CCCApply, most of the data populates the Maintain Applications page. In the back end, this data is stored in a number of PeopleSoft tables. The main application data page is ADM_APPL_DATA.

The field that FIRST COLLEGE ENROLLMENT STATUS draws from is unique in that it does not simply come from CCCApply. Instead, a customized process is used to update this field (ADMIT TYPE) based on the student's previous enrollment activities.

This element is the student's first college enrollment status (ADMIT TYPE) on record. Note that application data was not converted from ISIS to CampusSolutions. Thus, this will be the first ADMIT TYPE on record for students applying for the first time in SDCCD, while it may reflect re-applications for students who had previously attended the credit colleges prior to the transition and stopped out prior to the transition to CampusSolutions.

If you see a 4 in this field, it is most likely a data entry error. Continuing students do not need to reapply, and students who stopped out from the credit colleges and returned should have a 3. You can double-check by looking at Maintain Applications > Application Data and checking the APPLICATION METHOD field.

Known Issues, Related Details, and Other Notes

  • Rs (readmits) are used when a student previously applied and was discontinued due to non-attendance.

  • 1: Student is a first time after high school, never applied before and was never discontinued

  • 1R: Student applied before, but never ended up attending/enrolling in a class. They need to be "readmitted" despite never having attended.

  • "Z" and "ZR" Began to appear in Fall 2020 due to MIS DED changes made to SB11 and SB15.
