How to setup your student email

San Diego Community College District is using Microsoft Office 365 to provide students access to student emails, cloud storage, and access to the Microsoft Office Suite of apps (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).

Students must have an active application on file and be enrolled in order to be eligible for an O365/Student Email account.

  1. Go to http://myapps.sdccd.edu or http://outlook.office.com/mail/

  2. You will be prompted to enter in your email address (example: flastname@student.sdccd.edu). Please refer to the email you received notifying you that your account has been activated.

Note: If you have a personal Microsoft account, be sure you choose the “Work or school account” type.

  3. You should now be prompted to enter your password. This will be the same password as your mySDCCD account you use to login to the portal.

  4. If you enter your password successfully, you’ll be prompted for more information:

  5. You will then be prompted to select an authentication method. There are three ways you can setup your Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA):

    1. Microsoft Authenticator (Mobile App)

    2. Text and/or Phone Call

    3. Other Authenticator app such as Google Authenticate or a key fob.

If you want to use option b or c, click on “I want to setup a different method”

  6. If you’re using method A, scan the QR code or download Microsoft Authenticator from the Google Play Store or Apple Store. Otherwise, choose “I want to setup a different method” and go to step 7.

  7. If you’re using your phone number as an authentication method, enter in your phone number when prompted:

  8. The app will then send the cell number you provided a text message or phone call with a 6-digit code. Enter it in when prompted:

  9. When successful, you should get a message informing you that your authentication method has been setup.

  10. You’re now logged in to myApps! To access your email click on Outlook or if you used the outlook URL you should already have access to Outlook for students
