Congratulations! You have taken the first step in being able to offer Baccalaureate degrees to students. This checklist serves as a guide on what to prepare for when beginning the implementation phase of your Baccalaureate degree. If you were previously approved to offer a degree, some steps won’t be required to repeat (e.g., Financial Aid Program approval); however, it is essential to make sure you start to identify key stakeholders.

Admission to Registration

  • Application Process

    • Selection Process and Criteria

    • Application deadlines:

      • Applications Due

      • Official Transcripts (for transfer students)

  • Registration: Enrolling Students

    • Restrict upper-division classes to those in the appropriate Baccalaureate program.

  • Readmission

Promising Application and Selection Practices to remove biases in admission criteria: provide clear, transparent application and selection process; send out acceptance letters--include clear instructions for students to respond;

Cohort Considerations

  • Unforeseen student issues that may cause a delay in program completion

  • Students do not pass a class or need to drop

Benefits of Cohorts: facilitates collaborate and engagement for students; provides support for students; promotes structure; and promotes networking opportunities.
