Colleges are expected to develop a student onboarding/matriculation plan for students interested in the Baccalaureate program.

Admission to Baccalaureate Degree Program.

  • Will need to establish application processes for your students:

    1. Four Year Students - Associate Degree + Baccalaureate Degree (2+2)

    2. Current/Returning Students in corresponding associate degree program

      1. Current students on track to complete associate degree requirements in 1-2 years

      2. Current/Returning students who have already earned the associate degree.

    3. Transfer Degree - Students transferring in from outside institutions that have already earned the corresponding associate degree

      1. Students on track to complete the associate degree by their admission semester.

  • Department will establish admission criteria.

    • For acceptance to “pre-major.”

    • For acceptance directly to upper division program.

  • Applications will be reviewed, and acceptance will be determined at the department level.

Key Terms:

  • “Pre-majors” - The associate degree program that is tied to the Baccalaureate Degree Program

  • Student Groups - Method to flag students so they are able to enroll in upper division coursework.

There will be three cohorts at any given time.

  • New Students - Those who are admitted to two-year program and accepted for admission to the Baccalaureate Degree Program – on a two-year program completion track for lower division.

  • Continuing/Returning Students - Those who are admitted to two-year program and accepted for admission to the Baccalaureate Degree Program – on a one-year program completion track for lower division.

  • Transfer Students - Those who are admitted directly to the Baccalaureate Degree Program after previously completing all lower division requirements.
