This element indicates whether or not the student ever enrolled in CE in a prior term.

Ideally, we would be able to take actual attendance hours into account to populate this field, to ensure students did not only enroll in a CE class, they attended it. However, the difficulty of converting attendance hours to the CLASS_ATTDNCE table means taking this route would result in not counting CE enrollments until 2195/2197, when the CLASS_ATTNDNCE table was more consistently populated. To avoid this, the following coding was utilized: If, in any term < current term, student has attendance hours in CAREER = CE/CEHS OR STDNT_ENRL_STATUS = E in CAREER = CE/CEHS, return Y.

With managed courses, the issue with this approach is minimized if faculty drop students who never attend their CE courses. With open enroll/open exit courses, this is a non-issue because students who enroll are by defacto gaining attendance hours.
