Exporting your Class Roster to Excel (and Printing)
Summary
This Job Aid will go over the process of exporting your Class Roster from Campus Solutions. The export Excel file will be used to manually track and maintain class attendance for the semester.
Prerequisites
Faculty member must be assigned to the class to extract the Class Roster.
Instructions:
Login to your mySDCCD portal by entering your “User ID” and “Password”. Click the “Sign In” button.
Click on the “College Faculty Dashboard” tile.
Note: Different dashboard tiles display depending on which roles you are associated with.
Navigate to the “College Faculty Schedule” pagelet.
Click on the current semester to view a brief overview of class information such as class number, name, location, dates, times, and enrollment.
Click on each “Class Number” (CRN) to view “Class Roster”, “Attendance Roster”, “Permission Numbers” (Add Codes), “Grade Roster”, “Class Deadlines”, “Follow-Up” and “Class Details” for that class.
Some links will not show if there are no students registered or the function is not available yet (e.g. Permission Numbers and Grade Rosters).
After clicking on the “Class Number”, a menu of options will display.
Select the “Class Roster” option.
You will be directed to the “Class Roster Page” for the class section you selected.
Click on the “Grid Icon”
, to export your Class Roster into Excel.
Notes: You must have pop-ups enabled for your web browser!
After clicking on the “Grid Icon”
, to export your “Class Roster” into Excel, and depending on the web browser you are using, you should see the file appear at the bottom of your screen. Click on the file to open it.
Notes:
If you do not see the Excel file, enable pop-ups, or check your Downloads Folder.
The file format is .xls, but you can save the file in a different format.
The Microsoft Excel Program will open on your computer. You will see a dialog box displayed; click “Yes” to open the file in Excel.
Depending on your web browser, you may need to click the “Enable Editing” button to manipulate the Excel file. You can also save the Excel file for later use.
To print your Class Roster from Excel, click on “File”.
Select the “Print” option.
Change the “Orientation” of the page from “Portrait” to “Landscape”.
Change the “Scaling” of the page from “No Scaling” to “Fit All Columns on One Page”.
Change the “Margins” of the page from “Custom Margins” to “Narrow” (Margins).
When you are satisfied with your Class Roster print settings, click the “Print button”.
