Work-Based Learning Faculty Section Coding

Summary:

This job aid will outline the process for faculty to code work-based learning (WBL) activities for their class(es). Faculty may begin coding WBL activities for each class on the same date the TAOs are released for the term.

The San Diego Community College District (SDCCD) is required to report student participation in Work-Based Learning (WBL) activities to the state. This data helps ensure equitable access to real-world career exploration and preparation opportunities. You can view the District WBL Reporting Framework here.

Instructions:

  1. Login to your mySDCCD portal by entering your “User ID” and “Password”. Click the “Sign In” button.

  1. Click on the “College Faculty Dashboard” tile. 

Note: Different dashboard tiles display depending on which roles you are associated with.

  1. Navigate to the “Work based Learning” page through any of the 3 access points:

    A. Faculty Schedule > My Schedule > WBL icon

    B. Faculty Schedule > Work Based Learning

    C. College Faculty Schedule > Work Based Learning

  1. On the “Work based Learning” page, select the term you will be coding.

  1. Click on the class you want to code with Work based Learning Activities. The Work based Learning (WBL) Activities menu will appear.

  1. Sections with Course-level Coding: Some sections will have WBL activities pre-selected for you (course-level coding).

    A. “Coded WBL Activities” – displays course-level activities that cannot be changed.

    B. “Add WBL Activities”– to select additional activities, toggle each activity and click the save

    button. Once saved, the activities will display in the Coded WBL Activities section.

  1. Sections without Course-level Coding – Sections without course-level coding will display a message of “No WBL Activities Exist for the Course”.

    A. No WBL Activities to Report – If you will not be adding WBL activities for your class, click.

    B. Add WBL Activities– to add activities for your class, expand the Add WBL Activities menu,

    toggle each activity and click the “SAVE” button. Once saved, the activities will display in the

    Coded WBL Activities section.
