Begin by navigating to Campus Community → Comments → Comments – Person → Person Comment Entry.

Click the Add a New Value tab and enter the ID of the student.

Note: If you do not know the ID, you can search using the first and last name fields or SSN (National ID).

Use the Person Comment Entry page to enter comments about an individual.

In the Administrative Function field, use the magnifying glass to look administrative value and choose General.

The Academic Institution field should default to "San Diego Community College Dist."

In the Comment Category field, define the business need with which the comment is associated. Use the magnifying glass to look up values.

Click the Variable Data button to go to the Variable Data page, where you can view or enter the variable data associated with the specified administrative function.

Different fields and data appear on this page, based on the administrative function selected in the individual Person Comment Entry page. 

Note: If no variable data is required or allowed for the administrative function, the Variable Data button is unavailable and no data was transferred in from the functional area.

Click OK or Cancel button to return to Person Comment Entry page.

In the Comment ID field, the system displays the ID of the person entering the comment.

Note: If someone else is responsible for this comment, you can override the default ID and type the responsible person's ID.

In the Department field, enter the department of the person responsible for the comment.

In the Comment Date field, enter the date when the comment is entered. The default date is the system's current date. You can override this date if needed.

Click Save.

You have now successfully entered a comment for an individual.

 

Viewing Comments for an Individual

Begin by navigating to Campus Community →  Comments → Comments – Person → Person Comment Detail.

In the Find an Existing Value tab, enter the appropriate search criteria.

Click Search. If the student has more than one comment, the list will appear at the bottom under Search Results.

Click on the comment you wish to view. Click Next in List or Previous in List to view other comments.

Note: Person Comment Detail is a read-only screen. Use Person Comment Entry to add new comments.
