Parking Permits - View Virtual Student Search Page
Displays the student information that is transmitted from Peoplesoft Campus Solutions to the getaPERMIT system.
How getaPERMIT communicates with Campus Solutions:/
The student logs into their mySDCCD portal and navigates to the “Parking Permit” page.
As the student is redirected from the portal to the getaPERMIT site, Campus Solutions sends information about this student, to determine if they are eligible for a regular price, discount, or no-cost permit.
The data transmitted when they log in is like a snapshot of their status in Campus Solutions at that moment. If their status changes, the new information will be transmitted the next time they log in to the permit system. There is no regular file sharing.
Notes: Only Parking Services staff have access to see the student Status in the getaPERMIT.
District Educational Services and Student Accounting staff only have access to view the Campus Solutions side.
When troubleshooting, it can be helpful to view the Search Page to see what Campus Solutions is “telling” getaPERMIT.
Step 1
Navigation: Campus Solutions > SDCCD Development > Customizations > Student Financials > Virtual Parking Student Search
Step 2
Enter Student ID and click Search.
Step 3
View results.
This page is “view only,” we cannot make changes.
The results will show the student’s active careers, their enrollment status for each career, and the “User Type.” See below for explanations.
Tip: These icons allow you download, find, or sort the results.
Academic Career
Student can have any of three active careers. They are:
Undergrad - Associate or Bachelor degree student at City, Mesa, or Miramar
CE - Continuing Education student
CEHS - Continuing Education student completing high school diploma
Term
Displays recent term codes and their description.
Enrollment Status
E = Enrolled in that career for that term.
N = Not enrolled in that career for that term.
Students who are not enrolled will be blocked from ordering a permit for that term.
Status
Active or Discontinued for that career and term.
If a student’s status is Discontinued, that means they need to file a new application for that career.
In this example, the student is Discontinued in the CE career, and Active in the Undergrad career.
Effective Date
This is the effective date of the student’s status.
User Types
Not Enrolled: Not enrolled in the term for that career. Cannot purchase a student permit.
Student Regular Price: Full price permit.
Student Discount: Derived from Equation Variable. See below.
Student Third Party: Permit is paid by a third party. Student will be charged $0 for the permit.
These values display as a one-letter code in getaPERMIT, the “BOG” field. This table translates the values. This can be helpful when Student Accounting and Parking Services are communicating.
Campus Solutions User Type | getaPERMIT “BOG” value |
|---|---|
Not Enrolled | N |
Student Regular Price | X |
Student Discount | B |
Student Third Party | M |
Student Discount
UGRD Career Discount
UGRD students will have status Student Discount if they have a CCPG or financial need for the term, i.e. any of these values in Var Char 1 field: CPGA, CPGB, CPGC, CPGD, CPGS, NEED
To view, navigate to Equation Variables for UGRD career.
Student Financials > Tuition and Fees > Equation Variables and look for value in Var Char 1.
These values are populated hourly 7 am to 7 pm Monday through Friday. If the student believes they should be eligible for CCPG, there is no equation variable, and it’s been longer than an hour, they should follow up with Financial Aid.
CE and CEHS Career Discount
CE and CEHS students will have status Student Discount if they have the value PARK in Var Char 1 of the equation variables. This is populated manually by CE staff.
To view, navigate to Equation Variables for CE or CEHS career.
Student Financials > Tuition and Fees > Equation Variables and look for value in Var Char 1:
Student Third Party
Students active on a third party contract that includes Eligible Tree Node 210-PARKING.
Students with this status will be charged $0 for the student parking permit. The third party will be billed later.
Here is an example of a contract:
Note: If a student places a full-price permit in their cart and then is eligible for a discount later, they will need to delete that permit from the cart and go through the steps again. Once the permit is in the cart, the price will not change.
See the student guide troubleshooting for instructions.
End of process.
