What to Know Before You Purchase a Virtual Parking Permit

For San Diego City, Mesa, and Miramar College students

Are you a College of Continuing Education student? What to Know Before You Purchase-CE

Virtual student parking permits are activated as soon as you complete your order online. There is nothing to pick up or display in your vehicle. Your license plate is your permit.

Ready to order? Skip to How to Purchase a Virtual Parking Permit

Check that you are ready:

  1. Are you actively enrolled in at least one class for the term?

  2. Do you know your student ID number and password to log in to the mySDCCD student portal?

  3. Do you know your vehicle’s license plate number?

  4. Do you know your vehicle’s make and color?

  5. Do you have a credit or debit card to complete the transaction online? (Visa, MasterCard, Discover, or American Express). Cash payment is also an option. See information below.

Are you eligible for a discount permit?

Discount is applied automatically to students who are qualified through their application for Financial Aid. If you believe you should qualify, but the discounted price of $25 does not display when you select your permit type, please contact your Financial Aid office. If a correction is made to your record, you will need to delete the incorrect permit from your cart, and order again. See Troubleshooting A section of the student guide.

Paying with cash?

Follow steps to on the step-by-step guide to enter your vehicle information.

  • Click the button that says PAY CASHIER. This will hold your vehicle information in your shopping cart.

  • Then go in person to pay for your parking permit. Your permit will not work until you pay.

These campuses accept cash in the following offices:

City College Police V-100

Mesa College Police Q-100

Miramar College Police T-100

ECC – Student Services Center

Third-Party Payments

If another department (like Veterans Chapter 31 or EOPS) pays for your permit, the cost will show as $0. If it doesn't, contact that program. They will work with Student Accounting to correct it. If a correction is made to your record, you will need to delete the incorrect permit from your cart, and order again. See Troubleshooting A section of the student guide.

Need to update your vehicle information?

See steps 13-18 on the step-by-step guide.

Students who are currently enrolled can buy one parking permit for a car and one parking permit for a motorcycle each academic term (Summer, Fall, Spring).

If you get a new vehicle or drive a different one, please update your vehicle information.
