Notify A Student Through Class Roster

Notify a student through class roster

 

Instructions:

  1. Login to your mySDCCD portal by entering your “User ID” and “Password”. Click the “Sign In” button.

  1. Click on the “College Faculty Dashboard” tile. 

    Note: Different dashboard tiles display depending on which roles you are associated with.

  1. Navigate to the “College Faculty Schedule” pagelet.

  2. A.) Select a current semester

    B.) Click on the “Class Number”

    C.) Click on “Class Roster (Waitlist/Drop/Reinstate)”

  1. The Class Roster will show 15 columns: “Notify”, “ID”, “Name”, “Absences”, “Honors”, “FED” (Financial Aid/Veteran), “Withdraw”, “Reinstate”, “Never Attended”, “Grade Basis”, “Units”, “Program and Plan”, “Level”, “Status Note”, and “Last Known Academic Activity” and “Enroll Error”.

     Note: The class roster shows only enrolled students by default.  If you want to see all students, click on the "Enrollment Status" drop down menu and select another status.  Other options will only show if you have a status other than "Enrolled"

  1. From the “Class Roster” page, you can send 1 or more students a message by:

    • Clicking directly on the student's name. Students without valid email address will not have a hyperlink in their name. 

    • Or click on the “Notify Student Selected” checkbox or click on "Select All" and then "Notify Selected Students". Dropped and withdrawn students will not be selected.

     Attention: This will use whatever your default email address you have setup on your email client.  If you do not wish to send your from personal email address be sure to have your SDCCD email setup on your email client.

  1. You will be taken to the Email Students page where you can either click on Send Email" which will open up your email application (e.g. Outlook, Mail) and pre-populate the BCC field.

  2. Alternatively you can just copy and paste the emails pre-formatted to work in your web-based email system.  You can paste this in the BCC field.
